Audited By The IRS
The caller has a question in regards to being audited.
Brian Dailey: Jeff, welcome to The Law Show.
Jeff: Hi, how are you?
Brian Dailey: Doing fine, thank you. What can we do for you?
Jeff: Well, I got audited by the IRS and I thought that they–it’s for the deductions that I thought that were legal for me to take and they weren’t. Since that, I’m going to owe probably around $5000 and…
Brian Dailey: Who says they weren’t legal?
Jeff: I had a lawyer working for me on it, and I’m just wondering if there’s anything I should do before I go ahead and settle with them or is there something, more steps I can take to try to fight it or should I just take my lump?
Brian Dailey: You know, I wouldn’t do that until you contact John Catoni of our office. And if you’d just send an e-mail to questions@thelawshow.com or go to our Law Show website and then go to the law firm website, look under other professionals for John Catoni and send him an e-mail message, he’ll get back with you and tell you whether or not he can do something. I’ve never seen John unable to handle the IRS in any circumstance ever, okay?
Jeff: Okay.
Brian Dailey: Thanks for calling The Law Show.
